From October 4th to 16th, 2025, we visited the French National High Magnetic Field Laboratory (LNCMI) in Grenoble, France, and conducted a high-field NMR experiment on UTe2. Participants were Yo Tokunaga, group leader at the Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA), Professor Ishida at Kyoto University, and myself (Matsumura, 2nd year PhD student).
The machine time was a week from October 7th to 13th, during which they conducted spin susceptibility measurements using NMR with a maximum magnetic field of 30 T. At LNCMI, high-field NMR experts have been improving their equipment and software for many years, and the knowledge gained on-site was extremely valuable. They also had the opportunity to exchange data and discuss it with French doctoral students, which was a stimulating exchange.
Furthermore, because a 30 T experiment is extremely expensive, costing approximately 5,500 euros per hour, it was necessary to carry out measurements efficiently within the limited time frame, making for a tense experiment.

On my last day, I was invited by a local researcher to a traditional French restaurant. My meals during my stay were mostly canteen meals or simple homemade sandwiches with cheese and prosciutto (although those were delicious), so the food on this day was particularly memorable.
