【C01】 Opening of a Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Institute of Scientific and Industrial Research, Osaka University

The application has been closed.

A postdoctoral position to work on topological insulators and topological superconductors is available at the Department of Quantum Functional Materials (Yoichi Ando, Professor, and Kouji Segawa, Associate Professor), Institute of Scientific and Industrial Research, Osaka University. This laboratory has some of the best single-crystal samples of those materials and is equipped with a decent set of facilities for low-temperature experiments. Also, MBE-growths of topological-insulator thin films have been carried out for device research. Depending on his/her experience and interest, the successful candidate will participate in one of the following activities: materials syntheses, low-temperature experiments, or device studies. The appointment will be made as soon as a successful candidate is found, and the contract is renewable, depending on the performance, until March 2015. The salary will be between 3.4 - 4.4 million yen per year, depending on the experience. Applicants should fill in this application form and send it to Prof. Kouji Segawa via e-mail at segawa @ sanken.osaka-u.ac.jp.

【A01】 Opening of a Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

  • 1. Title and affiliation: Postdoctoral Fellow, Department of Physics, Kyoto University
  • 2. Host group: Quantum Materials Lab(Maeno Group: Prof. Yoshiteru Maeno and Assistant Prof. Shingo Yonezawa)
  • 3. Research project: "Topological Quantum Phenomena in Condensed Matter with Broken Symmetries" (July 2010-March 2015), Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research on Innovative Areas, MEXT, Japan. This position belongs to Core Research Group A01 "Novel Edge States in Superconductors with Broken Time-Reversal Symmetry"
  • 4. Description of the project: Experimental investigation of novel quantum phenomena arising from topological nature of unconventional superconductors.
