Welcome to the website of the Quantum Materials Lab, Department of Physics, Graduate School of Science at Kyoto University!
The academic staff members of our group are Yoshiteru Maeno (Professor), Kenji Ishida (Professor), Shingo Yonezawa (Associate Professor), and Shunsaku Kitagawa (Assistant Professor).
Our main research activities are the experimental investigation of superconductivity and magnetism.
May. 2019, Our discovery of the DC electric-current-induced diamagnetism in Ca3(Ru1-xTix)2O7 and its switching phenomena controlled by current is published in Physical Review Letters.
Oct. 2016, "Direct penetration of spin-triplet superconductivity into a ferromagnet in Au/SrRuO3/Sr2RuO4 junctions". published in Nature Comm. journal. Dr. Anwar, PD from this lab, is the main author of this work.
Oct. 2016, a paper on the topological material CuxBi2Se3 was published with the title "Thermodynamic evidence for nematic superconductivity in CuxBi2Se3" in Nature Phys. Shingo Yonezawa, assistant professor of this group, is the main investigator of this work.
Members of the group attended local conference on "State-of-the-art superconducting research: multi-degree-of-freedom, non-equilibrium, electron correlation, topology " (Oct.10-12, 2016) at Yukawa Institute for Theoretical Physics. Some members presented their work.
Most members of the group attended the The Physical Society of Japan (JPS) 2016 Autumn Meeting (Sep. 13-16, 2016 at Kanazawa University). The presentations by the group are found here.
Jan. 2014, Relationship between Superconductivity and Antiferromagnetism in LaFe(As1-xPx)O Revealed by 31P-NMR
