RESEARCH

My research interests focus on strongly correlated and topological systems. In particular, I have theoretically proposed a microscopic mechanism of spin-driven ferroelectricity, the thermal Hall effect in insulating magnets, and nearly flat bands with nontrivial topology. I am also interested in mathematical aspects of quantum many-body systems, including Hubbard-type models and quantum spin chains.

One of the characteristics of non-interacting topological phases is the appearance of edge states at their boundaries. In this project, I would like to extend the notion of these edge states to interacting topological systems. More precisely, I will study a many-body analogue of edge states in strongly correlated Majorana-fermion systems. I will also investigate supersymmetry breaking and the associated exotic particles in fermionic lattice models.
