RESEARCH
We have succeeded in observing the surface current associated with the Berry curvature in the chiral antiferromagnet Mn3Sn using a scanning Hall probe microscopy. This result directly indicates the existence of itinerant orbital magnetization derived from the Berry phase, providing a connection between two key keywords in the application field, “topological” and “magnetism”.
In the future, we try to elucidate the effect of such itinerant magnetization on superconductivity.
